April Cantor spent a summer in Hawaii 2004 to study lomi lomi massage from Aunty Margaret on the Big Island of Hawaii. It was on that trip she learned she had a passion for making various fresh flower and ti leaf leis.  When she returned to NYC and wishing to keep the aloha spirit alive, April started the Lei Project in which she greeted strangers and neighbors and tourists of the city with leis she handmade on a daily basis.  Currently April teaches yoga to children and families through her company, SoulShine Life. This is her fourth year paddling with New York Outrigger. You can learn more about her at: www.soulshinelife.com
