Spotlight: Cavalera Team Brazil
TEAM BRAZIL is best known as one of the top windsurfing clubs in the country. However, taking advantage of their easy access to water by the Guarapiranga Dam in São Paulo and their proximity to the ocean, they have expanded their range of watersports. Last year, outrigger paddling was added to that list and Team Brazil has taken off since, proof that this traditional Polynesian sport continues to expand and thrive in South America.
Brazil has no lack of athletes who excel in a variety of sports. Thus, it should be no surprise that the men who form the crew of Cavalera Team Brazil consist of experienced athletes who have proven themselves time and again not only in their own country but also on the international stage.
Cavalera Team Brazil will join a lineup of nearly sixty teams in New York Harbor competing in the Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge hosted by New York Outrigger. They will be competing in the Mens Open Division.

Ola! I paddle for San Diego Outrigger Canoe Club. I am in Sao Paolo from 14th-22nd June for World Cup. I am looking to paddle with some Brazilians if possible while I am visiting. Do you know any Sao Paolo OC clubs I could go out with maybe at least once for the experience?
Obrigado,
Joe Avery
